Setting up Google Pay

To accept payments through Google Pay, you need to set up a Google Pay account and gather some necessary information: Gateway Identifier, Google Pay Merchant Id, and Google Pay Merchant Name.

Getting a Google Pay Account

  1. Go to the Google Pay Business Console.
  2. Sign in with your Google account or create a new one if you don't have one.
  3. Follow the instructions to set up your business profile and payment settings.

Gathering Necessary Information

Gateway Identifier

The Gateway Identifier is provided by your payment processor. You need to contact your payment processor to get this identifier. It is used to route the payment through the correct gateway.

Google Pay Merchant Id

To get your Google Pay Merchant Id:

  1. Log in to the Google Pay Business Console.
  2. Navigate to the "Payment Integrations" section.
  3. Under "Google Pay API", you will find your Merchant Id. This id is required for production environments.

Google Pay Merchant Name

The Google Pay Merchant Name is the name that will be displayed in the Google Pay form. You can set this name in the Google Pay Business Console:

  1. Log in to the Google Pay Business Console.
  2. Navigate to the "Business Information" section.
  3. Under "Merchant Name", you can set or update the name that will be displayed to your customers.

Now you can create a Google Pay component and start accepting payments through Google Pay.
